Katherine Herrmann seeks exciting challenges and adventure in the great outdoors. Katie enjoys hiking, backpacking, and exploring new places, and welcomes every opportunity to tackle a new trail. Katie loves writing and telling stories about the places, people, and wildlife she encounters.

Katie is passionate about educating and empowering others, and utilizes her legal experience to help individuals understand and resolve their legal issues. Although interested in a diverse range of legal fields, Katie is enthusiastic about advocating for the rights of others in matters of discrimination, employment issues, and wage and hour disputes at The Erlich Law Office.

Before coming to The Erlich Law Office, Katie worked as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Winchester. Previously, Katie worked as an intern at the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services in Washington, DC.

Katie earned her J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law. While attending law school, Katie served as Publication Manager of the Ave Maria Law Review and Secretary of the Student Bar Association. Katie participated in a variety of other student organizations, including the Criminal Justice Society, the Military Law Society and the Women’s Law Association. An article written by Katie won second place in the Howard Schwabb Essay Contest with publication by The American Bar Association’s Section of Family Law and the National Association of Counsel for Children. The Homeland Security Review published a separate article on national security law written by Katie.

Katie is originally from southeast Michigan. She graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. While in Michigan, Katie became a certified member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and volunteered to assist with patient care at Sparrow Hospital.

Katie relocated to Virginia in 2012. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
